Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, develops specifications to modify and maintain existing system and web based applications using engineering releases and utilities. Designs supplementary programs to interface with existing systems, load start-up data and fulfill any special reporting requirements. Adapts, integrates, codes, tests, debugs, documents and maintains those programs.

This individual should also have a clear understanding about software design methodologies to be able to work with other team members to develop, test and implement the software solutions involved in and surrounding this environment. There may be other related tasks to be performed as required.

Knowledge Requirements:

• At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in designing and developing software and web applications solutions, with at least 2+ years recent hands-on experience developing database schema designs and tools
• Through knowledge of SDLC concept
• Good documentation and communication skills
• Experience with understanding and possibly modifying and / or creating data models

Technical Experience:

• 4+ years of experience in multiple programming languages (i.e. PHP, SQL, Java, Perl, etc.)
• 3+ years of experience in web related application developments
• 2+ years of experience of database design in major Relational Data Management Systems.
• 1+ years of experience of working with XML and HTML 1+ years with any database management system, PostgreSQL, Informix / DB2, Oracle, etc
• Knowledge of formal data modeling methodologies
• 3+ years of experience on UNIX environment

Desired Programming Skills:

• PHP, SQL, Java and Perl, shell scripting, C, C++
• Good to high-level knowledge of servers operating systems (Linux, AIX and other variety of UNIX)

Considered an Asset:

• Experience in Tomcat and Apache considered a strong asset
• Large-Scale Data Sensitivity and Handling
• Knowledge on financial analysis and data manipulation is a plus
• Ability to perform data quality analysis, gather information to determine data sources, data targets, data definitions, data relationships
• Open Source Tools / Applications, Pentaho, RPM
